My understanding is that it was not an arranged marriage.

The first story I read about this...the Herald, I think...stated that is was. But...accuracy in the media? Hmmmf.

My understanding is based on the logic that since her family hated the guy before the marriage, than why would they arrange for her to marry him. But I am using logic in regards to this part of the world, which could be a mistake.
