Not much to offer on my part, but I searched my genealogy websites including subscribed ones. Surnames do fascinate me. It seems that the name BOUNEL is very, very sparse, if at all. I searched multiple census records for England and United States, perhaps I missed some.

I do find the name BOUNELL very much in evidence in my native country England. The 1880 census for the USA records this:

John M Bounell. 31 years old.
Born England about 1849.
Iron Merchant
Wife. Emily. 27 years old.
Born Ohio.
Son. Joseph F. 3 years.
Son. Hugh B. W. 4 months.

They live in Cook County. Chicago. Illinois. Back tracking I find that a plethora of lawyers, doctors, merchants are their neighbours. Upscale indeed.

Not much here, but of some interest.

So is it possible that John Bounell could be HJ Bounel and they also are part of the Land Trust?
