Two men acquitted last month on assault charges regarding an incident outside a contentious town hall forum in 2009 were named Friday in a civil suit.
Kenneth Gladney filed the case against Service Employees International Union members Elston McCowan of St. Louis and Perry Molens of De Soto, as well as SEIU President Mary Kay Henry and local President Tom Balanoff.
Gladney was selling "Don't Tread on Me" buttons and flags outside the south St. Louis County forum, called by U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, at the height of debate over health care reform.
He alleges that McCowan and Molens attacked him without provocation after the meeting. The suit claims the union "ordered, encouraged, and arranged McCowan and Molens to appear ... to harass, abuse and beat those individuals who held political views."

How did these thugs get aquitted?...it was captured on video...
Union lawyers, made up testimony from one of the assaulter’s, Kennith didn’t have the money for a good lawyer, and the one assigned him, screwed him. Oh ya and I think the Judge was in a hurry to get the case done so he could go on vacation. That’s what I recall anyway, I could be a little off on this, but not by much. I didn’t hear the conclusion from the people that dug into the whole thing but I’ll do some homework quick and get back to you.
Since the Union guys were being prosecuted by the state, why would Gladney NEED a lawyer?
Was he on trial in some way too?

He really did get screwed, and I’m not kidding at all. Dana Loesch does a local show here on 97.1, she covered it pretty good, but I couldn’t find a link for that coverage.

I think the "justice department" was involved.
Who knows, maybe the jurors were all union members.
