I once worked for a company that had the federal government as an important customer. I was told that I was not going to be promoted because the company had too many white male managers, so no more white males. The following year I went back into being a consultant.
In my first time around of being a consultant, a manager at a "Fortune 50" company, who I'd known from way back, told me that I needed to put my company in my wife's name, because they would only put me on the vendor list if I was a "woman or minority owned" company. This was back in the 80's. This crud has been going on for a long time, and it's well past time we rebelled.
