TEHRAN, Iran - Iran's state TV is reporting that two American men already held for two years in Tehran have been sentenced to 8 years in jail each on charges of espionage and illegal entry.
Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal have been held since July 2009 after being taken into custody on the Iran-Iraq border.
The station's website says Bauer and Fattal, who are both 28, have been sentenced to three years each for illegal entry into Iran and five years each for spying for the United States. It's not clear if that includes time served.
They have 20 days to appeal the sentence.

Hard to feel sorry for these wankers. The only good thing for them is Iran has no homosexuals.
My vote is that this is the Iranians seizing hostages and banking them away for future trade. From what I have read, the border area that they were at is almost unmarked and it is easy to 'cross'. In fact it is possible that they did NOT cross but that the Iranians captured them in Iraq, but that has become a very moot point indeed.
I was just thinking this was a repost - until I saw it was two usefull idiots instead of the three from last time.
I’m considering turning myself in to CBP as an illegal from Tahiti. Think they’ll send me home?
Nah, they won’t send you home - especially if you wear a turban!
” LESSON:
Tresspass into Iran - get arrested, lose 1/2 your body weight and end up in prison for 8 years.
Tresspass into the United States of America - get free food, subsidized housing, free education, free medical care, jobs, throw your trash everywhere, spit on the citizens, and you dont even have to speak English. “
EXACTLY
It’s too bad that they didn’t capture peace studies grad student Michael Moore. He could have used the weight reduction plan plus had 8 years to think of how to spin his next movie to show Iran had great health care.
