This is the latest attack on the Texas economy, but as usual, it cherry-picks statistics. Last month, the Texas unemployment rate went up by 0.2% - but Texas added a net 30,000 new jobs the same month! How does that happen? It happens because Texas is getting more new workers moving into the state every month than new jobs created. The long-term unemployed are moving from blue state slums to Texas because THEY believe in Texas. So the fact that the unemployment rate went up in Texas is not a negative - it is just a reflection of the fact that so many people are moving there looking for work. Texas is still adding new jobs faster than almost any other state in the Union.
Hell I would like to move to Texas, but my wife hates the Tornado’s that happens down there.. I live in Illinois :(

From Mexico.
Some employers don't want anyone who isn't an illegal from Mexico or Central America. Someone they can short in their pay packet for "flexibility" at the end of the week or the end of the month, someone who can't complain, someone they can ship home via INS/ICE if they complain. Someone they can just ship home in a box if they get killed on the job -- just call Santana Funeral Home, wash hands, done with that one.
Some "night cleaning workers" tried to form a union in Houston, back in about 1992 (they were averaging about $3.30/hour -- versus $10 in Pittsburgh and $12/hour in New York City) .... their employer called INS on them, rounded them all up and had them deported en masse.
Yes, that’s the correct counter-argument. Look at the states that are losing population.
