Yes. Sept.3 1951 The first long-running American television soap opera, Search for Tomorrow, airs its first episode on the CBS network.
By now this soap opera feels like it’s been running longer then that.
It’s also Labor Day.
It’s Labor Day weekend.
As a side note, which may be no accident: On September 3, 1763, the American Revolution officially came to an end when representatives of the United States, Great Britain, Spain and France signed the Treaty of Paris. The signing signified America's status as a free nation, as Britain formally recognized the independence of its 13 former American colonies, and the boundaries of the new republic were agreed upon: Florida north to the Great Lakes and the Atlantic coast west to the Mississippi River.
It’s my birthday. Think that may be why?
Well, the better half and I plan on being in Iowa on that day to watch her announce she's a candidate. Oh yeah, we'll be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary that weekend. Neither of us can think of a better present than Sarah announcing she's a candidate.
