Bannon also "embellished" the film with stupid scenes like men with a knife and gun behind their backs, a man with an arrow through his neck, a lion devouring a zebra, a car wreck, and other equally irrelevant scenes that had nothing to do with the story.
The story would have brought me into Palin's camp had they not thrown the whole Republican party under the bus in the process. How does Palin think she can win anything without Republican help?
Well, I saw the movie too and I didn’t get that it was a sweeping attack on all Republicans. It was, IMO, focused on the entrenched power brokers that have long ago stopped acting as our representatives and instead try to be our controllers. I too am a lifelong Republican, but rather than be offended I was cheering them on, that this needed to be said and Sarah with her bipartisan record of hammering corruption was just the person to carry forward that mission in DC. Perhaps I am influenced by my experience with the Republican machine here in Illinois, but we do have a problem and it will never go away if we can’t say that openly.
Having said all that, remember this was Bannon’s project, over which Sarah exercised no creative control. It occurs to me, for example, that Palin would probably not have decided to show all the nasty things said about her at the beginning of the movie, least of all the x-rated material. It just isn’t her style. She is all class, all the time. Likewise, her comments have been very circumspect with regard to her own party, so much so she has some conservatives irritated that she hasn’t been harsh enough with her fellow Republicans. What’s a girl to do? In politics you can never please everybody, so you hold to your principles and try to do the least damage possible. I’m sure Palin has made more friends on her own than she has lost through self-appointed surrogates.
