I read that and thought that you were wrong about Ayers being wrong. But then I looked up ‘immanent’ and learned a new word. I have a large vocabulary, but I had never heard that word before. Thank you!

You’re welcome! It’s not hard to use the right word. Just compose a piece of fiction, submit it to the grammar Nazis at AbsoluteWrite, get the snot kicked out of you till your eyes bleed and you’re sorry you ever heard the word ‘fiction’, take what you learned and limp off to a dark corner to lick your wounds.

So easy, anybody can do it.

Except it is spelled ‘imminent’.

This word was in the news a lot when Bush said ‘some think we need to wait until an attack is imminent’ (paraphrasing)...the left later turned this around to claim that Bush was saying an attack on the US was imminent.
