Since Tim Pawlenty ended his bid for the presidency last Sunday, his former staffers and key fundraisers have held off from endorsing another candidate or moving to another campaign. Theres a reason.
Team Pawlenty is waiting on New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to make a decision about entering the field as a presidential candidate, The Daily Caller learned Friday.
Key staffers who formerly made up the Pawlenty campaign have been in discussions with Christie all week and the talks are still ongoing, sources told TheDC. They are reportedly very anxious to have Christie officially place his hat in the ring. At one point, there was discussion of Christie flying to Texas at the beginning of the week; he ultimately nixed that plan

Paul Ryan, yes please.
Chris Christie, no thanks.
America, you can have him!
With Rick Perry now in, Christie should wait until 2020. I like Christie, but he needs to lose weight.
Welcome Chris Christie. Or should we just call you NOT RICK PERRY the 2nd. NOT RICK PERRY the 1st is already taken by Paul Ryan and NOT RICK PERRY the 3rd is reserved for Jeb Bush.
Don’t bother Chris. Saying you support some of Obama’s policies make you unelectable.
Christie has NO chance. He’s great for Jersey, but he doesn’t articulate conservatism in a way that will inspire the primary electorate.
I agree with you 100%.
With Baraq looking like a sitting duck for 2012, everybody wants in now.
The R nominee is very likely to be our next POTUS.
Great. Another charismatic RINO in the race. Just what we need.
First question I have for Cristie if he does...........how about that 17 dollar toll hike on the bridges and tunnels in NY and NJ. Nice job
We should want him to run, he will split the RINO vote with Romney, and that’s beginning to look important.
Governor Palin, please pick up the white courtesy phone ...
Christie has no support from the conservative core, ergo, he will have much more difficulty winning the nomination than his supporters think.
And there is a good possibility he would lose to Obama in a general election.
Unions across the nation would turn out in droves to vote against him.
Most substantial conservatives would be hard pressed to be motivated to get out to vote for him because his establishment viewpoints and compromising style would produce policies that worked against conservatism just about as much as Obama has.
Very conservative people would view his winning the Republican primary as an indication that the Republican party was tone deaf as to conservative values. It would also make a third party probably take shape, as conservatives would begin to leave the Republican party that deserted them.
IMHO...
I don’t want Christie to run. He IS NOT a conservative.
how do expect a president to cut the budget
when they can’t cut their eating?
I strongly suspect "The Divine One" will be reelected. One scenario being Trump enters at the last minute drawing off votes from the Republican candidate. After the election Trump is rewarded with a massive land grant and given "stimulus" funds to help develop the land.
You do have a good point. Why is the establishment so determined to get RINO Christie in the race. Are Romney’s numbers that bad? And how does getting Christie in the race solve that problem?
Hmmm...that's actually a good point. Pawlenty's staffers and fundraisers did such a good job for him (not!) that we probably wouldn't have to worry too much about Christie gaining a lot of traction. Maybe just enough to siphon off about 20% of Romney's base. Not bad.
Pawlenty wants anyone except Bachmann, because he wants the VP spot. He knows they won’t nominate 2 people from the same state. That is why he attacks MB so much.
