Officials from the George W. Bush administration are unhappy with new presidential candidate Rick Perrys incendiary attack on Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. And theyre going public with their complaints, Politico reports. The Texas governor, campaigning in Iowa Monday said of Bernanke, If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dont know what yall would do to him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous -- or treasonous in my opinion. Karl Rove, one of Bushs top White House aides and still an important Republican strategist, told Fox News, It's his [Perrys] first time on the national stage, and it was a very unfortunate comment. You don't accuse the chairman of the Federal Reserve of being a traitor to his country and being guilty of treason and suggesting that we treat him pretty ugly in Texas. That's not a presidential statement. . . . Governor Perry is going to have to fight the impression that he's a cowboy from Texas. This simply added to it. Pete Wehner, a deputy assistant to President Bush wrote in Commentary: People shouldnt throw around the words almost treasonous loosely. And certainly a person running for president shouldnt do such a thing. To say someone is treasonous means he is a traitor to his country. In the long catalogue of crimes an individual can commit, there are not many that are worse than treason.

I agree with your statement, I respect old GW but at this point Rove just nastifies everything he touches and he has daggers in both hands for any Tea Party supported candidate that comes his way. The GOP needs to redefine or face permanent decline.
I’m not a supporter of Perry for POTUS myself...although the “treason” word gives me pause, is it inaccurate? Screw whether it was a gauche comment, was it a true comment? Presses printing money night and day supports corruptocrats and screws everybody who works for a living. Ever wonder why oil is $81barrel but the price of gas doesn’t go down? How much $20 buys at a grocery store lately? $20 isn’t worth what $15 was six months ago. Is this whole administration, whole cloth, treasonous, betraying the rights and well being of the average citizen, as well as their oaths to preserve and protect the constitution? Or is there another word for people who declare war on our culture and our way of life, and take false oaths in order to accomplish their regime abd nation changing aims? Educate me...but I think that by the book, the penalties are the same.
Throw them out. Lock them up. Chop all the heads off the hydra and burn the stumps. LIBERTY.
You don’t have to make any excuses for the Bushes.
I still shake my head in disbelief how the guy screwed up. He could’ve become the greatest POTUS if he hadn’t been so PC and eager to please the muslim world.
When I think of Bush II, I think of his state of the union address in 2002 and how he made that inane statement that Islam was a ROP while the WTC was still warm. I also remember how everyone politely smiled and applauded.
Then I think of Karzai up in the bleachers next to Mrs. Bush. Sheesh.
Yeah, Rove loves Romney and doesn’t like Perry.
I wish Rove would just go away already.
