I could see a David and Goliath comparison, but David and Saul?

In that comparison, David is the “annointed one”, the one God had chosen to be king.

Saul had become corrupt (in both spirit and mind) and turned his back on God. Saul was the one standing in the way of God’s chosen one.

I know Bachmann understands the story behind David and Saul. It disturbs me that she would use that as a comparison between herself and any of the other GOP candidates. It takes a lot of ego to think of yourself as somehow being annointed to the task of president.
