Thereve been a lot of loud critics of President Obamas vacation plans to Marthas Vineyard -- even from some of his avid supporters. But when he touches down on this posh island in about six hours, he wont find many here, if you believe Jenna Ware, a long time resident and driver for Stage Coach taxi service.
Ware, sporting a dark tan youll see on most residents here, says that when the recession hit, the Vineyard remained unscathed. The island is pretty much recession proof, she says. When a passenger noted in a 2009 visit the first time Mr. Obama came here as president there was a lot of rain, Ware replied, its the weather that hurts businesses here, not the economy. People wont come if we get a bad forecast.
So while President Obama ensconces himself in a $20 million estate presumably relaxing but possibly working on his economic plans, he can also take some comfort that no one here will hold him accountable if the weather turns bad.

Well how about slapping a 50% sales tax on those wealth vacationers so we can spread the pain, spread the wealth, spread the manure! ;-)
The place is crammed with ueber-rich liberals and Obama lovers. If they have any complaints, it will be about having thousands of security agents descending on them, golf courses closed for Obama, beaches closed for Obama, roads closed for Obama, no fly zones imposed for Obama, and so forth.
Rain is great for Vineyard plants and flowers.
If Lord Steve the Magnificent can lower the sea level with his mere election, weather control should be a snap. No Rovian weather machine even needed, just make a speech and the clouds part, the sun shines and Unicorns and Pegasus (Pegasai?) poop skittles and rainbows on the enthralled masses at the Vineyard. Simple!
