And would be a shame since Rand Paul is a rock-solid Conservative and is not a kook like his father. (I’m not crazy about his calls for military cuts, but he’s better than most.)
There's a whole lot of non-defense pork, things like skate-board parks and bike trails, that gets slipped into those defense bills. Of course, if Congress ever gets to cutting, those will be the *last* items to go.
