I don't like him because he was a big government-spend money RINO and advised GWB down that road. I call him an elitist because he is in that "good 'ol boy" GOP club...and if you don't think he is...you are kidding yourself. He doesn't think people like Perry...or Bachman...or Palin...or any of that crowd need be there. It's reserved for Rockefeller Republicans. He's more interested in keeping up the pretenses of the "game" between Team R and Team D than actually detroying LIBERALS.
That is a FACT and THAT's why he's an elist.
Funny how we differ on this. I see that “club” as most interested in electing a republican and nominating one who will get elected, like Buckley’s famous quote. I don’t think we need a big schism in the loyal opposition now what with the alternative of destruction of this country with a second Obama term, but that is me.
You are right on when it comes to the “blue blood” Republicans. I don’t trust any of them ... never did!
Well said. And it would have been said many more times on here if some of the best old guys, i.e., dedicated to real conservatism before the sycophantic poster packing for the Bush presidency, had not been kicked off. I’m thinking of at least 3, one of whom was Patrick Henry. The old guys, for the most part, don’t change their philosophy to comport with whatever liberal Republican is in the White House. Seems like most of the newer folks can rationalize anything.
