Rove is already on the clock. This could be a good thing for Perry, Bush was very unpopular at the end. Perry could run as a new refreshing candidate and platform, not another Bush Texan.

Although some say no one wants another Texan, I think there will be a huge “buyer remorse” constituency in this election.

I think there is a huge voting block that thinks along the following lines:

“Ya know, maybe I wasn’t totally rational when I picked Obama last time. I was just so mad at Bush! But Obama hasn’t delivered the goods. If fact, we seem worse off. Yeah, maybe the Iraq stuff was bad, but do I want the future here to look more like Texas or more like Chicago? This Perry guy seems to have it goin’ on. I need a job. I don’t care what his accent is.”

I can live with a President Perry and a Tea Party Congress.

The Bush team tried to defeat Perry last year by running Kay Bailey against him. Every one of their guys was on her side. He won by 20 pts. Don’t underestimate Perry.
