Rick, just get the “Palin treamtment” now and get it over with. Sooner or latter it’s gonna happen. Otherwise it’s a slow drip, drip, drip....

Surely Perry is shaking in his boots. That is, he’s having a walloping Texas style belly laugh fest.

Well .. good luck with that.

The last time the elite repubs tried to take Perry down, he still beat them.

I’d put my money on Perry.

Well .. I’m not so sure about that .. I’ve heard a lot of “moderate” repubs already having fits about what Perry is saying, including Rove.

But .. I noticed today that Perry refused to rescind his comment about the Fed - and continued pounding away at it.

What I like about Perry - he’s not afraid of anybody. That can be dangerous, but I guess we’ll see how it all works out very shortly.

Amen to that. KBH was sent packing and I mean packing. She used to be respected in TEXAS, but after that misguided attempt to take Perry down she is a laughing stock.

I swear the Beltway Ruling Class is so out of touch it is not funny.

There are conservative republicans, plain republicans, and “moderate” republicans who lean ever so much toward the dems.

These “moderates” are the status quo - the go along to get along bunch.

They are called “elitest” because they believe they have all the answers and they are so entrenched in govt they have forgotten who they work for. They are so “elite” they only care about themselves and not the country.

They’re also the ones who don’t want to make any waves; They don’t want anybody to shake up their power structure. If they are too contrary, they won’t get invited to the dems cocktail parties .. and you know how important that is .. right ..??

I say, the more waves the better. It’s damn time we got some presidents, senators and legislators with some guts and brains. I’m sick and tired of the stinking mess in DC.

The Bush team tried to defeat Perry last year by running Kay Bailey against him. Every one of their guys was on her side. He won by 20 pts. Don’t underestimate Perry.

This is really dumb. The Bush team, in particular Bush himself, has no interest or even time for such adventures, he just wants to take it easy a bit and enjoy life. As far as anything in the past, or any of his relatives who have political ambitions, the real gut of the matter here is that exactly the opposite would be the smart strategy if it really is only about power grabs.

Dean is an idiot.

However, in regards to long pending, hard feelings about things, there is one factor never to discount.

And that is the Nixon team. Dick "Commie killer" Nixon. Out there, hiding under Hillary's bed, is a Republican. A Nixon Republican. Who remembers. Very well. That pimple face little adjunct who was part of the "get Dick" commie doves who wanted to put our President in jail. Watch out Hillary - out there in the night, or even under you bed, there is a Nixon Republican with a very long memory. Team Nixon is coming. Happy Halloween.

"You can say a lot of things about Bush’s presidency and his failures as president, but one thing nobody should say [anything] bad about [is] his political team. They know what they’re doing, and they are ruthless, and they are going to take Perry out.” "

The "Bush team" was always quite "ruthless" with conservatives. Now why was/is that? And why was the "Bush Team" never, ever "ruthless" with the commie Democrats that were constantly attacking them?

Well said. And it would have been said many more times on here if some of the best old guys, i.e., dedicated to real conservatism before the sycophantic poster packing for the Bush presidency, had not been kicked off. I’m thinking of at least 3, one of whom was Patrick Henry. The old guys, for the most part, don’t change their philosophy to comport with whatever liberal Republican is in the White House. Seems like most of the newer folks can rationalize anything.

No, Rove was very critical of Perry’s Fed comments on Fox this week.
