If compared against the cost of social and hospital services for illegals, a serious fence and a functioning Border Patrol might seem like a cheap investment.
We don’t need a freaking WALL.
We just need to do what most countries do:
If you’re illegal, you cannot get schooling or non-emergency medical care. You cannot get gov’t benefits, and anybody that hires you + gets caught, gets fined heavily. Third offense hiring an illegal is $50,000 fine.
Illegals would stop coming mostly.
Americans would have more jobs.
Border Patrol are feds. They are funded by feds. That’s entirely the point. Texas has 64% of the border and receives only 20% of the funding. Why? 1) Obama hates Texas? or 2) 80% of the Texas/Mexican border is in the middle of nowhere and approximately .0000000001% of illegals cross in these areas so the money is spent where the border walls are CURRENTLY BUILT or 3) Texas does a better job per border mile of stopping illegal immigrants than any other border state. Take your pick. They are all true, and NONE OF THEM are Perry’s fault. He is for secure borders. Always has. Always will.
