Can we get the UN to withdraw from the US as well?
Looks like things are heating up again in Latakia and Damascus this evening -
21:41 A huge blast was heard in Latakia moments ago. (F.N.N.)
21:43 Electricity was cut off in the Yarmouk Palestinian refugee camp in Damascus as security forces deployed to the area, Al-Arabiya television cited eyewitnesses as saying.
21:52 Heavy gunfire was heard in the Al-Qalaa neighborhood of Latakia, Al-Jazeera television reported.

Yep...neutralizing Syria is the first step before taking on Iran. But this will create a great deal more unrest in the ME. Russia's up there taking full advantage of the unrest worldwide...best to keep an eye on Russia..and China....they both want the ME oil fields in a big way.
That implies they have at least talked this over with NATO and the US.
While I see strategic value to ridding Syria of Hezbollah...and all Iranian influence...I question whether the current Cinc can be trusted to do what is necessary to make a permanent change there.
Shiite refugees (Hezbollah) flooding Lebanon...UN involvement...Iranian counter-strikes (terrorism)...rockets and missiles hitting Israel.
I don't believe Iran will take this lying down and I don't think the Arabs have the will to fight them outside their own borders.
Now, if Turkey is willing to occupy the entire country (with Pan-Arab support) and Israel is willing to neutralize it's northern border, we may have something.
That’s everybody then. Thanks jhpigott.
This is a brilliant gambit to setback Iran.
By eliminating the Syrian Surrogate, Turkey (and others backing the move) also eliminate the Hezbollah and Hamas surrogates.
This meets with my approval
