Santorum’s loss had little to do with Spector and more to do with 1. Bob Casey’s last name and 2. the media assault because Santorum’s kids went to school in Virginia. It is a shame because Santorum’s victories in those debates were about the most lopsided I have ever seen. It remindedme of Einsteidebating Forrest Gump.

"Santorums loss had little to do with Spector and more to do with"
As a Pennsylvanian I disagree with you. His support of Spector in 2004 definitely disillusioned conservatives in this state. I knew many of them. You are right about Casey getting by on his Dad's name and Santorum's kids. However, I think an even bigger role was his unwaivering support of the war in Iraq at a time (2006 pre surge) when people were getting war fatigued and there was an Iraq backlash. This sentiment propelled the Democrats to power.

Maybe you’re right, but all I heard on FreeRepublic was about his support of Spector. Conservatives refused to support him.

You nailed Santorum’s problem perfectly.
Right now Santorum about 40% of PA republican primary voters want him to run against son of Casey again.
More than anyone else, by far.
Do you think he’ll get in?
