It is ridiculous to pretend that the 1988 democrat anti Bush party chairman was actually a secret Reagan/Bush supporter. It is childish to play such games. Then how do you explain the fact that Perry voted for Bush in 1988? Kind of blows your "logic" all to heck...

Unlike Perry, Reagan didn’t have to defend being a post McGovern, post abortion wars, post Carter, anti-Reagan, Democrat.
The last time that Reagan voted Democrat for president was in 1948.

Gore was ardently pro-life as well as relatively conservative on other issues.
Clinton stated that he chose Gore due to his foreign policy experience, work with the environment, and commitment to his family.
Clinton's choice was criticized as unconventional because rather than picking a running mate who would diversify the ticket, Clinton chose a fellow Southerner who shared his political ideologies and who was nearly the same age as Clinton

I would not be at all surprised to learn that Perry voted for Reagan over Mondale and Bush over Dukakis. Perry has already said he voted for Bush in 1988.

It wont be. Iowa will be her high point. Dont get me wrong, I like her and would vote for her, but I dont believe she can win the primary.
While Michele Bachmann has a bigger hill to climb, I would never rule her out. She's very poised, rock-solid conservative, and handles the media well. I think that right now Rick Perry is the one to beat for the nomination. Perry just handed Romney his head on that "real economy" remark: Perry "Texas is the real economy." LOL! It's wonderful that we finally have several great candidates!

No, if after he lost his bid to end the Reagan Revolution with Al Gore, and after seeing the writing on the political wall, Perry switched to Republican (remember that Reagan pulled 64% in Texas), that has nothing to do with his prior political activism, passions, and dedication.
You forget that Perry wanted the Reagan Revolution to be burned down by replacing Reagan with Al Gore.
What “conservative” could desire such a result, did you, do you think that is normal?

That is your own personal interpretation, but considering your bias against Perry, it is hardly an objective, dispassionate view. It is your opinion, nothing more.

“Okay, at least you are not going to try to claim your opinion as fact. That is more than a lot here will do”
Thanks. I only claim facts when there’s backup (or I remember something). Here I don’t have anything, but logic.
By the way, have a look at this...posted on Drudge. Seems that Al Gore was starting to slip off the moderate/conservative plank, even by 1988.

So why dont you get off your high horse, think about what youre doing and what it matters and is it worth explaining to Him later. We are ultimately on the same side
Little snippy - aren't you? I know what I am doing and so does HE for He guides me! So follow your own high horse advice and check what you are doing. Same side? I'm not willing to agree with that at all - you are only words on a page.

Most of us get wiser as we age. If you are under 78 you have no idea what the Great Depression was like. My parents were children in the Great Depression and remember it well. They're both still Democrats, too, even though their party is nearly 100% Communist today.
Wiser with age? Dunno about that.

I’m not going to quibble... Gore used to be a bluedog...particularly when he was running for senate in Tennessee.
