Remember Bill Clinton had an initiative on racial matters? As I recall, he scheduled seminars around the country on racial issues. Clinton himself conducted some, while others were presided over by prominent people appointed by Clinton, such as the historian John Hope Franklin.
But as I recall, these sessions devolved into “bull” sessions, and charges of insensitivity leveled at those who questioned the need for affirmative action.
I don’t think any legislation or new policies came out of Clinton’s race discussions.
More recently, Eric Holder lectured us that we don’t have the guts to honestly discuss racial matters.
I would love to ask Holder, Clinton, and any other liberals, if the youth gangs and flash mobsters are upset about the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow laws, and if that’s why they do what they do.
Maybe if Obama was half the “healer” he had marketed himself as, and as so many people believed him to be, we would not be in quite the same level of mess we are in now.
Instead, as soon as he took office he tried to jerk America to the left and viciously and brutally as possible, without any real understanding of the forces involved, the animosities he would inflame or even considering the teeeny-tiny potential that things might not all prove hunky-dory.
Exhibit A has to be the appointment of Holder at AG. He couldn’t have chosen a worse person if he had tried.
