I’m not sure how you bringing up these “facts” is going to help get a conservative elected and get rid of Obama.

Face it. Perry has a significant chance of being the nominee. Assuming for a moment he is the nominee, what are YOU going to do?

Support him?, Vote for Him?

Or Not vote, Or vote for Obama?

If you say you would support Perry as the nominee, then I hope you realize you are shooting yourself in the foot with this stuff.

First, sorry, but I don't share your opinion concerning Rick "Open-Borders" Perry gaining the nomination.

Once the information of his checkered conservative past is fully vetted during this campaign, the base will turn away from him. He won't make it to the finish line.

Secondly, let's say by some twist of fate he makes it to the finish line; I'll have to make that decision then based on what else comes out about him. His Open Borders positions and support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform, however, makes it unlikely, because like GWB and McCain, he will be trying to push this over the finish line and this will destroy our country.

“I’m not sure how you bringing up these “facts” is going to help get a conservative elected and get rid of Obama.”

I’ll help you here. These facts will come out in the next 15 months, like it or not - because the Democrats are EXPERTS at separating Republican candidates from their base - they don’t need our help. It is MUCH BETTER to have them out in the open now. If he’s properly vetted and still considered the best, so be it, and I, for one, will vote for him. If he’s not, then all hell is going to break loose once he’s nominated and the Dems start their attack campaigns.

“Face it. Perry has a significant chance of being the nominee.”

Agree...but we better know who the heck we’re nominating.

“Assuming for a moment he is the nominee, what are YOU going to do? Support him?, Vote for Him?

In my case, I’ll do just what I did in November, 2008, which is hold my nose, vote for him, and HOPE that his actions (for once) really do match his words. In other words, I’d rather vote for someone that I can trust from the start.

“If you say you would support Perry as the nominee, then I hope you realize you are shooting yourself in the foot with this stuff.”

No, we’re not. As I’ve said countless times this weekend, the Dems are more than capable of finding out every time Perry didn’t tie his shoelaces correctly, much less finding out about major policy weaknesses.

So you think Perry should not be questioned? I thought the Primary Election’s purpose is to vet all candidates, both incumbent or not. I’m looking forward to vigorous vetting of Rick Perry (former Democrat, Texas Gov.) and all the other prospective candidates. SoCon is right to question Perry so why not back off!
