Thanks for the explanation. I don’t get this Iowa thingy, but I’m always open to learn.

Not sure what numbers to believe.
Drudge has a link that shows Bachmann sold 6,000
The Des Moines Register has a link she sold at least 4,000
on 15,000 that’s a huge percentage swing. Could be 40% or 28%

Today is the day that Iowa makes known its first impression of the GOP candidates. First impressions are important. And voters around the country take Iowa’s recommendation to their party very seriously.

Listen, no disrespect meant to Mrs. Bachmann or any other of the candidates, but I wouldn't believe anything coming out of any of the campaigns today.

That’s not what they’re saying over on the Perry Live thread. A bunch of Palin haters who see RP as the second coming of Christ.

If Paul wins, do you flush the day? Or you just disregard and analyze the other performers?

OK, here we go. The Gardasil issue is symptomatic of a larger issue Perry will face. Merck was a campaign donor. A former staffer was working on behalf of Merck. According to another post, several of Perry's corporate supporter were awarded grants for corporate seed money and ended up putting very little their own money up front. If this is true, this is a big problem.

If Ron Paul wins, after posting my tribute to rjefferies (see post #36), I will worry that he is going to be a bigger player in the primaries in 2012 than 2008. And that may not be good for the GOP nominee, ultimately.

Yes.. today is a huge day in the primary unless Paul wins. That’s what the GOP Establishment Spin Doctors will say (Bachmann, Perry, Romney)

Some voters do.

Candidates do not sell tix; they buy tix and then give them away. Anyone that purchased a ticket at the gate could have walked up to any candidate’s booth and asked for a free ticket. You then use that ticket to go into the voting booth and cast your secret ballot for any candidate you choose.
It was a great turnout and a lot of fun. I took my daughters, age 13 and 14, and they loved it even though they thought it would bore them to death.

After watching the debates the other night, I’m hoping that Santorum can find some kind of momentum for this poll. I thought he was the best of the group.
