Let's be very clear. This is a very vocal, visible and enthusiastic group on THIS board. It is NOT reflective of the electorate at large.
I have no problem with Palin doing what she does well. I do have a serious problem with seeing her as a viable choice to defeat Obama.
I am on record here, fwiw, that she will endorse Perry. We shall see about that, I know.
I’m for anybody but Obama.
Let the chips fall where they may...
If that happens, FR will go into full meltdown mold, and Palinite heads will be exploding. Personally, I think Sarah is just in it for the money. Think about it, if she trully had higher politcal aspirations, I don't think she would have bolted the AK guvship for payola.
It seems all her actions are more strategic toward making money than politcal aspirations. It is easier to be a rock star than be president
“I am on record here, fwiw, that she will endorse Perry.”
I think you are probably correct.
I can see that scenario developing, too, don-o.
FWIW, I doubt Sarah Palin will throw her hat in the ring. I simply believe that she values her personal liberty, freedom of movement, and privacy too much to want to be cooped up in the "fishbowl" of the Oval Office for eight years. Plus why should she enter the race now, when it appears that she and Perry generally share the same values and principles? Plus it seems undeniable that Gov. Perry has a certain "Reagan-esque" quality about him....
I liked what I saw from him today, and am keeping an open mind.
P.S: Please say "hello!" to Mrs. don-o from me!
There is no way she will be president. The MSM attack dogs will chew her family up and spit her out. They are rabid. I do like Palin very much, but she would get slaughtered in the debates. I would support her as VP though, maybe Perry and Palin team would be a success.
Let's be very clear. This is a very vocal, visible and enthusiastic group on THIS board. It is NOT reflective of the electorate at large. .... don-o
Outside of the delusional echo chamber that the Palin Worshipers live in, this is the reality of how Sarah Palin fares with the electorate at large.
FOX NEWS Poll released on Wednesday, August 10, 2011
FOX News Poll: (August 7-9, 2011)
Question 25. Sarah Palin - Do you think this person would make a good president or not?
.................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of
ALL...........19%.......75%.........4%.......1%
Dem ............7%........89%.........3%.......1%
Rep ...........34%.......58%.......7%.......1%
Ind ...........20%........74%.......5%.......1%
Yet, multiple so-called "conservative" Palin Worshipers are posting on Free Republic that, if Palin is not nominated, they will write in her name in the general election. One of them even has that declaration as his tag line.
The Palin Worshipers are conducting themselves like Far-Left political operatives from Democratic Underground or the DNC would act if they were conducting agitprop on Free Republic by masquerading as a conservatives: "A true conservative throws away his vote so that a Marxist can win the White House!"
The bottom line is that the Palin Worshipers have become a de facto Obama Fifth Column in the efforts to defeat Marxist Obama in November, 2012.
Here is what JimRob had to say about Rick Perry a while back:

..... if Palin does not run but Perry does, he'd probably suck all the air out of the race. Either way, ..... Perry would all be excellent alternatives to Obama the commie. Anyone but RINO Romney the big government chief architect of CommieCare!

I predict that too.
However, I also predict that Palin will play her teasing game as long as she possibly can get away with it, maybe to the point of actually declaring and running a phony campaign, without any paid staff (as Newt Gingrich is doing right now) in order to squeeze every last possible dollar out of her celebrity status.
The eventual endorsement will take quite a while.
Palin is currently playing this very lucrative game with FOX News and there is still plenty of money to be made with the Teasing Game:
Due to the "Equal Time" provision of Section 315 of the Communication Act, TV networks cancel the contracts of employees that are serious Presidential candidates. Yet, Palin and FOX News continue a very cozy relationship that is very lucrative for both of them:
1.) Sarah Palin spends a week here and a week there pretending to, maybe, run for President. Such a fake "teaser" campaign does not trigger Section 315.
2.) FOX News hypes each of her fake "teaser" campaigns.
3.) At the end of each fake campaign, Palin's loyal supporters and the curious Palin non-supporters then drive the FOX ratings as Palin appears in an "exclusive FOX interview of Sarah Palin" where one FOX employee (Palin) is being paid to be interviewed by another FOX employee that is paid to toss Palin cream puff questions.
4.) Palin cashes her paychecks and FOX News gets their ratings bonanza.
5.) Rinse and repeat, again and again and again for as long as the game keeps generating money for FOX and for Palin.
The longer Sarah Palin keeps playing the Teasing Game, the more money the Sarah Palin Brand brings in. Therefore, Sarah Palin will play the Teasing Game as long as she can possibly get away with it.
If that leaves her loyal followers foolishly "Waiting for Godot", ...... Well, too bad, so sad, ....... That is what needs to happen to keep the money rolling in.
Whatever Palin does, I predict that the end result will be a maximization of the Sarah Palin Brand income.
If you want to accurately predict what Palin will do, FOLLOW THE MONEY. Whatever maximizes the money, that is what Palin will do.
