Regarding Chinese carrier operations let us not forget the Chinese bragged about how good their high-speed trains were until that devastating accident exposed their lies and shortcomings to the world. Could Chinese shortcomings be exposed again in the areas of moving too fast in carrier operations?

Her Ukrainian DN-80 gas turbine engines each develop 24,300 horsepower and are unlikely to propel the Shi Lang anywhere close to the boasted 30 knots. The ship is so obsolete that her greatest threat is to the sailors on board.
