On the eve of Republican Texas Gov. Rick Perrys announcement that he will be a candidate for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, Ann Coulter continues to push for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to enter the competition.
On Sean Hannitys Friday radio show, Coulter, author of Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America, made a prediction on how she thought things would shake out. But, she remains optimistic on former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romneys chances against President Barack Obama should Romney be the Republican nominee.
This is a prediction for the future that Republican primary voters are desperate, as they should be to have a decent Republican candidate, Coulter said. No more John McCains because we have to take out this guy Obama.
Coulter continued, Right now by far and away, no matter what the media tells you listeners Romney is the odds on favorite and hes a pretty good candidate. I did not think he could win a year ago. But now, I think Obama has such a glass jaw and Romney has done very well. I think Romney could actually beat Obama.
Coulter, however, warned that RomneyCare and Mormonism would haunt the former Massachusetts governor in his campaign.
But still were uncomfortable because of RomneyCare, were worried hes going to lose votes because hes a Mormon and oh boy, you notice the media has said nothing about Mormonism now, Coulter said. As soon as hes the nominee, were going to have one exposé after another. Theyre going to be portrayed as crazier than the Scientologists.
But, Hannity added that by injecting Mormonism into a general election against Obama, it would make Rev. Jeremiah Wrights indiscretions fair game once again something that would seem to work in favor of a Romney Republican presidential candidacy.
As for Perry, Coulter later said she anticipates a disappointment that will lead a push for Christie to join the race.
Youll see Rick Perry, Coulter said. He wont live up to expectations and the American people will throw themselves into the arms of Chris Christie. Thats my scenario.
Just because he has looks, and talks, the talk, does NOT mean he walks the walk. NO MORE STINKING RINOS! They are 0 light.
That is so sad and wrong when a person makes her living and name off the very people she is deceiving and ridiculing.
I remember his speech on assault weapons, if they were legal, he would be against banning them, his policy is no new gun control laws, only existing ones.
Personally, and this is just my own opinion, I think he is very over-rated, he isn't so much a conservative, as he is a partisan, he likes to attack and rip, which is what makes him so popular, bashing liberals will always make you look good, it doesn't mean your actually conservative.
Now that I think about it, maybe thats why Ann Coulter likes him, she hates people on the left, I'm not so sure how much she actually hates their ideas or beliefs. She's a republican, first, second and third, long before she's a conservative, she isn't in favor of anything, she is simply against certain people.
I’m just not that into Ann anymore. Backing Chris Christie? BFF’s with Bill Maher? Cheerleader for GO PROUD?
She's done in my book. I don't have time for RINOs or their supporters.
I’ve noticed that too (about Ingham)
Ann. Chris is not running. He’s said it over and over. I mean, he just knows he can win, but he’s not running. (Excuse me while I heh.)
That said, I actually watched a speech with him on TV, where he said his view on assault weapons was if they are banned, then you should go to jail for having them, if they were legal, then you have a right to own them, and he also stated he does not believe there is any need for any new gun control laws, only for laws to be enforced.
I would say its weasel wording, in that, he did NOT advocate repealing any gun control laws, and his words, he actually used the phrase "status quo" to describe his position. I didn't see him make any reference to other states laws, except for a brief reference to each state having a right to their own laws (in reference to a question asked by the reporter about Bloombergs going after gun shops in other states).
Her presence is below half of what it once was. She is now resorting to desperate Shock-Jock tactics to get attention.
Of course she has most of her career, but she is no longer even worth a headline when she does. She is washed up.
You don't need to tell me twice, I still think that Calvin Cooledge is the greatest president this country ever had.
