I have had, in times past, the opportunity to do quite a bit of research and writing on the disturbing evidence linking homosexuality with pedophilia. While many homosexuals do not engage in such acts, as a group they are disproportionately represented in cases involving pedophilia. About 2-3% of the population that is homosexual commits about 1/3 of all cases of child sexual abuse. That’s a factor of ten times their representation in the population.

In addition, there is a disturbing undercurrent of fascination with sex with underage boys in the gay community. It is a theme that runs, e.g., through more than a few works of gay fiction. Also, there is a overlap between the gay and pedophile communities, with prominent “gay activists” being involved in sex with underage boys. Alan Ginsburg was a prominent example. Some of the leadership of NAMBLA also move/moved seamlessly within the gay community.

The connection between homosexuality and pedophilia is in fact extremely disturbing - all the more so because the connection goes unreported and strenuous efforts are made to deny it. I can little doubt that a frightening and abominable subculture of pedophilia exists in Hollywood.

I don’t think it’s his drug past that is hurting him anymore. He’s been largely clean for at least 15 years.

Part of it is that he’s typecast as a 12 year old child and he still looks like that 12 year old child, despite that he’s a 40 year old man.

I think part of it is that he’s got a very distinctive face. Good working actors look like an everyman and he doesn’t look like an everyman.

Yeah, I agree to some extent. The same looks that make a child actor successful rarely turn into the looks that make an adult actor successful.

I think the other problem is that, frankly, he's just not that good an actor. He's got one good movie, STAND BY ME, a couple of okay movies--LOST BOYS, GOONIES and GREMLINS--and the rest is pretty much crap.

Pedophilia in Hollywood? No surprise. But if this is the case, Hollywood sure has a lot of nerve hounding the Catholic Church on that issue.

I just wonder how much of it is simply that he hasn’t found fitting parts?

You have actors like Mel Gibson who can play anything you give him, but then you have actors who are great, if they play within their style. Jack Nicholson is that sort of actor. He, imo, can only play disfunctional parts: people with mean streaks or rascals, or nuts. Jack could not credibly play a family man.

I could see Feldman playing parts like hospital orderlies or government workers. Parts, where he’s part of the system, trapped and resigned to a lifetime of mediocrity.

Shorts, low-budget straight-to-video junk, cameos.

Hmmm... In light of this announcment, perhaps he's decided to retire from acting and find gainful employment elsewhere...

James Dean blew the whistle on this back in the late 50’s or early 60’s

James Dean didn't do any such thing. He died in an auto accident on September 30, 1955. He made three now classic films, East of Eden, Rebel Without A Cause, and Giant.

However, at the time of his death he was still a comparatively little known actor. Giant was released after his death. He was cast in Eden in April 1954, just 17 months before he died. It was released in 1955. He made Rebel in between Eden and Giant, and it was released less than a month before his death. All of Dean's fame and legendary status occurred after his death.

The third thing that came out of that was that it is mandated that they are supposed to get an education as well.

Thus, the union school teacher and the school bus on location, plus the union social worker.

Yeah, I've seen those people in action. As far as I was concerned, they were part of the problem.

Normally, I think the free market system works exceptionally well at ensuring a quality product.

However, thanks to the blockbuster system, Holllywood can afford to treat people as throwaway products with impunity. Unless you are a superstar, you were nothing.

Prior to the child labour laed, there were plenty of kids in Hollywood, whom when no longer useful, were thrown away with zero education,

Then you also missed him chopping up Jason Voorhees in the fourth Friday the Thirteenth movie.

My personal favorite cause of all the nekkid chicks.

You’ve got to be kidding putting up Mel Gibson as a better actor than Jack Nicholson.

Mel Gibson has successfully played all of the acting archtypes. Can you show me a roll where Mel Gibson played it badly?

Jack Nicholson has also had many roles, but he’s never played the role of a nice guy. I don’t think Jack can play nice and I’m not expecting him to do so.

“Jack Nicholson has also had many roles, but he’s never played the role of a nice guy. “

I’d say he’s had two: his minor role in the original Little Shop of Horrors, and his bit part in Easy Rider.

Gibson is a limited actor who either plays manic or vengeful. Nicholson’s early work consisted of full blooded, three dimensional characters: Five Easy Pieces, The King of Marvin Gardens, Chinatown.

Straight out of Alinsky's "Rules For Radicals".

Make your enemy live up to his own ideals. (massively paraphrased)
