APNewsBreak: Some unions to skip 2012 convention
Associated Press ^ | 8-12-11 | SAM HANANEL

More than a dozen trade unions are planning to sit out the 2012 Democratic convention because they are angry it will be held in a right-to-work state. The unions say they are disappointed that labor wasn't consulted before Democrats settled on North Carolina, a state that is considered one of the least union-friendly in the nation.

They are also frustrated that job creation hasn't been a higher priority for Democratic lawmakers. The unions include the Laborers, Painters and Electrical Workers.

The move would deprive the party of millions of dollars spent on sky boxes and other sponsorships that usually help underwrite the convention.

A Democratic National Committee spokeswoman says the party is happy with the support of local labor leaders in North Carolina.

The DNC probably picked NC because they don’t really want the Unions to show up.

The Purple People Beaters showing up confronting people makes them look bad. The DNC knows it, but won’t admit it.

Anybody think that a few of these unions don’t want to be associated with a Loser like Obama? The “Right to Work” aspect could have been finessed. You know that the Clintons’ would never have had this problem.

That;s okay — the Obama people will sell the SKy Boxes to others who will be more than willing to buy. The Chinese Communist Gov’t, Muslim Brotherhood, La Raza, Hamas, Hezbollah... And I’m sure ACORN (or whatever name they go by now), Organizing For America and SEIU will make up the difference. And trust me, as a native North Carolinian, the Democrats there won’t let their Masters and overlords look bad....

Whoopee! We should work on stirring up as much of this kind of trouble with pro-union friends and family as we can.

"The unions include the Laborers, Painters and Electrical Workers."

LOL! Those kinds of unions haven't been seen much since the '70s. But the bipartisan politicians do serve the teachers', police, and other government employee unions and local government interest lobbies. No vote, and no sale!

Good to have, especially when you have the thug party convening in your state.

Good luck with controlling the violence....

The DNC doesn’t care about the money.
They have plenty... between Georgie Soros’ suspected $10,000,000,000 gain over the S&P downgrade (that’s right ... 10 BILLION), and the web-site contribution centers in Saudi Arabia (each call for $199), they will have the best financed campaign in history!

I have NO proof of this, it is PURE SPECULATION, on my part.

Too bad, the money that would have been spent is now available to go to the candidates.
