AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is bristling at suggestions that his presidential campaign has been hurt by a number of resignations by his staff.
In a Republican presidential debate in Iowa, Gingrich scolded Fox News Channel anchor Chris Wallace for asking a "gotcha question."

You mean this jackass still thinks he is in the running?
Dangerously clueless.
Why is Mittens there? He needs to appear at the Democrat debates.
He’ll run on ideas as soon as he gets some.
He’s keeping an eye on e-Bay to see if he can buy one on the cheap.
One correction hosepipe. Newt BITCH slapped little Chrissy.
Here’s an idea, Newt. Don’t run. Stop. Go somewhere and make yourself useful. You’re not going to be President.
Chris is starting to mirror his father..
The boy is not very smart.. Newt was correct...
Wheres the beef?.. Chris may not even KNOW good questions..
Wallace looked like a weakling.. Bair was so/so...
A lack of self control will keep this man in a private station.
I also liked newts idea of scrapping the ‘special super secret double probation congress’ and get to work letting the congressional representatives do their jobs and find the cuts.
He knows his history, he knows his policy.
He's just a terrible messenger. It's really too bad.
Newt was trying to talk about IDEAS and trying to move the debate to substance instead of "gotcha" garbage. Didn't happen and everyone suffered as a result.
Chris Wallace was just a snide, abominable questioner. Brett kept saying Americans want to hear about the economy and jobs and yet it was given short shrift in favor of "making news" through agitating the infighting.
I don't know who the FOX people work for but it wasn't "fair and balance." It sounded more like a debate you'd get from Politico, Talking Points Memo and MSLSD.
lol...Truth will not be tolerated!
True enough...although he was right that asking questions in a debate about fundraising numbers, staff troubles, etc. was inappropriate and makes no sense - that’s not a topic in a debate over the issues.
But pure political....
Pardon me for not buying your insight, crystal ball, or opinion, but ya never know.
Someone said the exact same thing about what ya got now.
Some don't like the man, but the message is really paramount and seems inordinately legitimate and sincere.
I remember hearing Liz Cheney do it and do it well and thought I love this---more should do this, since we seem to get the strangest questions. ---Like the Michele Bachmann "submission" question. Sure, they are going to ask the men on the panel how they intend to treat their wives throughout their administration!
Oh, I REALLY liked THAT answer, too!!!! He’s RIGHT!
Oh, I REALLY liked THAT answer, too!!!! He’s RIGHT!
Does one of Newt’s “ideas” include belief in global warming and support for carbon taxes? If so, he would be a disaster for the economy. He needs to come clean on this issue.
