Did Perry persist or did he listen and change his position about Gardisil?

From what I've found researching him, he persisted. He issued an EO and refused to rescind it when the legislators went to him.

The Texas House and Senate then had to overturn his EO.

It's an example of poor judgment, something he shouldn't have done in the first place.

I'm going to a meeting tonight with my St. Rep who is one of the most if not THE most conservative in the Repub controlled house.

I'll ask him and get back to you.

Well, NO, the House and the Senate do not have the power to overturn his ExO, they just wrote their own bill, which had no effect whatsoever on what Perry did with his ExO, which was put the decision about Gardasil in the hands of the parents, and for those that wanted it had to be a mandated vaccine to get Medicaid and insurance companies to cover it, SHOULD THE PARENTS WANT IT.

Yes and here is what Perry said about those republican legislators that overturned his EO:

"...I challenge legislators to look these women in the eyes and tell them, "We could have prevented this disease for your daughters and granddaughters, but we just didn't have the gumption to address all the misguided and misleading political rhetoric."

I want to thank those legislators who voted against this bill. They will never have to think twice about whether they did the right thing. No lost lives will occupy the confines of their conscience, sacrificed on the altar of political expediency."

Basically calling them murderers.

The Texas House and Senate DO NOT HAVE THE POWER to overturn his EXO. That EXO stands TODAY! It stands BECAUSE the feds said to provide for this vaccination through the SCHIP program, and in order for SCHIP OR an insurance company to pay for it it has to be government mandated.

AGAIN, Governor Perry’s EXO put the decision smack dab where it belongs. In the parents hands to let them make the decision whether they want it or not. As a matter of fact he even gave them a one time form to fill out instead of the krappy procedure produced by the democrapic and RINO legislature, who tried to make parents opt out every year.

You can screech, you can spin it, and you can continue to lie about and help the Barack Hussein Obamajaad win this election, which I suspect is what you’re really trying to do.
