Here’s an idea. The fiance said he wasn’t there. The policeman saw him running towards the back bedroom so he put the dog on him. He and the dog rolled around while the cop told him to quit fighting the dog. That’s how he got bit.

Q: If he wasn’t there, how can he claim he was bitten?
Q: Why was he running to the back if he wasn’t there?
Q: How can a dog bite someone who isn’t there?

“That said, I would venture to suspect should be more than a little relived that the dog was trained to go for the (no, I can’t say it)groin area rather than the throat.”

That’s a pretty disturbing sentiment. Police dogs should not be trained to go for either of those places. They are meant to assist officers in their duties, not to be living weapons to kill and maim. Any police officer who is training a police dog to go for those areas is demonstrating malicious intent against the citizenry and is probably not fit for that job.

“he attacks those idiots who choose to be on the wrong side of the law.”

Correction: he attacks suspected criminals who are constitutionally mandated to be regarded as innocent until proven guilty. If we are so willing to forget that little fact, then we might as well just let the police summarily execute whoever they want and save ourselves a lot of money in court costs.

“I’d like to know what they put all over that dog’s mouth to get that “rabid psycho” look.”

My dog used to love to eat grapes, but they would make him froth up like that, maybe that’s what they used.

Grapes are toxic to dogs.
Raisins, even more so.

To me, it looked like the dog had just eaten a lemon meringue pie.

My Dobe has had a ‘barking fit’ over something he’s seen outside and *never* frothed up like that.

Truth be told, I never saw *any* of my Dobes look like that.

The worst I’ve seen with Odin is that sloppy Pavlovian slobber he gets when chomping his dental biscuits.

[he -really- likes them....and then he wipes his mouth on my pants...yuck]

I have a few “Q”s of my own about this one.

Q: If the guy really had a warrant on him, why didn’t the same police officers who arrested him notice that when they pulled him over a couple days before?
Q: Why would the same officers who had a recent verbal altercation with the suspect be the ones who went to serve the warrant on him?
Q: Why would a K-9 be brought along on an arrest warrant service that has nothing to do with narcotics?
Q: Why would the suspect be running to the rear of the domicile if there were no rear doors or windows in the residence?
Q: Would a police dog bite the suspect in the crotch if it had not been trained to bite that area, possibly on command?
Q: Should a police officer who would train a police dog to bite citizens in the crotch be wearing a badge?

Yeah, I know they are toxic, but my dog was nuts for them, and one or two did not seem to have any ill effects on him. I’m sure if we let him eat a bunch, he’d have been sick as a dog!

If I had to guess, it was probably a German shepherd or a Belgian malinois.

It looks like the “demon dog” breed du jour goes around full circle, doesn’t it?

Do you mean you do not feel honored to be treated like a convenient napkin? :-)

Why would the suspect be running to the rear of the domicile if there were no rear doors or windows in the residence?

To get a gun perhaps?

The rest are speculative (ie you don’t know if it was trained to bite on the crotch, they may not have checked for a warrant, etc)

Why were the same officers who illegally searched his car a few days prior permitted to be the ones sent to his residence?

The suspect may not be a choir boy, but these officers aren’t 100% in the right either.

There is rarely an error in these incidents...

Define "error" and "these incidents" please.

No law enforcement agency trains their dogs to go for the crotch.

From the article:

Officers said Melancon "refused to follow the K-9 officer's commands," and Zin bit him "in the genital area."

Are the cops lying or being misquoted?

It’s weird.

Some dogs can eat a bag full and others get sick from one.

I’m not sure if they’ve even figured out *why*, yet.

The same for macadamia nuts...but then who’d feed insanely expensive nuts to their dog?

[what even *is* a macadamia nut, anyway?]...;D

Turned out to be a Malinois.

Just another flavor of the week propaganda fest for the anti-dog freaks, I reckon.

They are a righteous little dog.

Once, during a Harley open house, two rival clubs started to get rowdy and the local LEOs were called and nobody listened to them *until* the K9 unit showed up and single Malinois leaped onto the hood of his handler’s squad car.

It looked like a PTA bake sale, after that.
