I make a prediction that someone who has CCW will end up taking an a attacker down, which would end this mob violence. It will happen, mark my words.
With respect, Biggirl, I have worked in this demographics neighborhoods for most of my adult life, have studied them, spoken with them and gotten into their lives and heads. I know them, what they are capable of and what they are willing to do.
They WILL retaliate against any violence against them so a CCW holder needs to be absolutely aware of this. You will be treated no different from any rival gang member and your family will not be spared if they are with you.
It will not end the mob violence, it will only cause them to carry more firearms themselves. They do not fear or respect anyone with a gun because other thugs and police have been pointing guns and/or shooting at them all their lives. If you look like you are not prepared to defend yourself with deadly force against any and all comers, they will take your gun from you and kill you with it. If you draw on someone and don’t fire, you must have a plan to egress quickly, because they will start moving behind you, waiting for the opportunity or split second distraction to charge you, haymaker you and get you prone. Once that happens, and you don’t retain your bearings or your firearm, your life expectancy greatly diminishes.
This is not to scare people but to inform them on what they will be facing.

No, it won't stop many of them. The modus will change to include guns. Most all of these thugs have firearms available to them -- they just haven't been bringing them to the party (apparently). If CCW weapons come out theirs will as well. These incidents will change from muggings to shoot-outs. I am pro-CCW and possess one but would just prefer to stay away from these areas (including state fairs, etc., in locations with certain demographics).
I dont think so, Annie, only a mass attack with multiple gun owners will stop this by taking out large numbers of rioters who are caught with witnesses to exonerate the gun owners who will get sued anyways
But kill the roioters, it must happen, or these lunatics will spread their violence all over and freely, and if it comes to the suburbs, where homes are, it wont be pistols these punks face, it will be rifles and shotguns, and NONE will get away!
