Ann Coulter: THE SUN NEVER SETS ON THE BRITISH WELFARE SYSTEM (Or ours for that matter)

THE SUN NEVER SETS ON THE BRITISH WELFARE SYSTEM

August 10, 2011
Those of you following the barbaric rioting in Britain will not have failed to notice that a sizable proportion of the thugs are white, something not often seen in this country.

Not only that, but in a triumph of feminism, a lot of them are girls. Even the "disabled" (according to the British benefits system) seem to have miraculously overcome their infirmities to dash out and steal a few TVs.

Congratulations, Britain! You've barbarized your citizenry, without regard to race, gender or physical handicap!

With a welfare system far more advanced than the United States, the British have achieved the remarkable result of turning entire communities of ancestral British people into tattooed, drunken brutes.

I guess we now have the proof of what conservatives have been saying since forever: Looting is a result of liberal welfare policies. And Britain is in the end stages of the welfare state.

In 2008, a 9-year-old British girl, Shannon Matthews, disappeared on her way home from a school trip. The media leapt on the case -- only to discover that Shannon was one of seven children her mother, Karen, had produced with five different men.

The first of these serial sperm-donors explained: "Karen just goes from one bloke to the next, uses them to have a kid, grabs all the child benefits and moves on."

Poor little Shannon eventually turned up at the home of one of her many step-uncles -- whose ex-wife, by the way, was the mother of six children with three different fathers.

(Is Father's Day celebrated in England? If so, how?)

The Daily Mail (London) traced the family's proud Anglo ancestry of stable families back hundreds of years. The Nazi war machine couldn't break the British, but the modern welfare state has.

A year earlier, in 2007, another product of the new order, Fiona MacKeown, took seven of her eight children (by five different fathers) and her then-boyfriend, on a drug-fueled, six-month vacation to the Indian island of Goa. The trip was paid for -- like everything else in her life -- with government benefits.

I think we need to kill the job killing regulatory agencies first.

Unfortunately from the looks of the “super committee” so far, the regulators are safe for now.

I don’t care what people paid into whatever entitlement program they think they’re owed.

I don't care if you made every payment on your car and it is now paid for, give it to me.

Medicare and SS were insurance programs.

I paid into them (agaisnt my will) and I will take advantage of the benifits my money paid for.

If those programs were never initiated, I could have saved the same amount I put in and have a nice nest egg for later on in life. And would not need any govornment programs.

You were ‘sold’ an IOU that the next generation is supposed to pay, just like you paid into the last.

No, it's the Gov that made it into an IOU.

If they would have invested it, it would have worked out good.

Don't blame me for what your elected represenitives did with our money.

SS should be phased out, but not your way...just stop paying everyone.

There are a lot of people that never collect SS also.

I said phase it out over 10 years or so. But as you see, it’s virtually impossible to stop since everyone’s ‘paid in’ some amount and ‘wants theirs’.

Most welfare people have worked and paid taxes in some point, so the entire argument against any socialist system falls apart. Sometimes it seems a liberal is a conservative that turns 55.

I bet after obamacare’s been in force for awhile people on ‘conservative’ forums will be ranting how they paid into it so they’re going to collect as well.

I read an excellent biography about George Whitefield by Arnold A. Dallimore. I didn't realize that the England of the late 1600s and early 1700s was nearly as depraved as they are now. At that time it was 'gin', loose morals, and class hatred.
But a dramatic change occurred.
God used men like Whitefield and the Wesley brothers (and Rowland, Harris, and others) in a dramatic movement of Revival. It was a work of the Holy Spirit - but Whitefield and the others were His instruments. The culture in England changed nearly on a dime. People were saved and changed their behaviour. They feared and revered God and sought to honor Him and Christ their Saviour.

They say that is why England didn't suffer from the same insanity that struck France in the French Revolution - and it was from this framework that England dominated the world.
Queen Victoria once said that the secret to Great Britain's greatness was the Bible.

And now, you have an England that is devoid of God's Word. No reverence for God. No thankfulness to our Saviour.
How have the mighty fallen. They have sown the wind and now are reaping the whirlwind.

May this be a lesson to us in America.
Seek ye the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near.

Yes indeed

Over regulation (the oil field etc etc) is a big problem.

Billions would be saved just by disbanding many many of the reg orgs.

And all un-Constitutional agencies, such as the dept of Ed, EPA, and the Dept of Trans---except for interstate highways and issues.

Let the constitution kick in, and many problems would be solved.

There is so much that can be done, such as putting back into production the millions of acres of shale (oil) above the Grand Canyon that Clinton took out of the mix so he could pay off his Chinese supporters for getting him elected. After Clinton did that, our shale oil started coming from Indonesia.

It can be fixed (phased out properly) but it will take more depth of thinking than you exhibit.

Let me guess, cut off the payments after you’re expired right?

10 years, to me, is damn generous considering what SSI is doing to the country. I’d cold turkey it personally.

Natural gas alone could create a jobs boom in Michigan. In fact I would even allow manufacturers to operate their own wells if they can use the gas for power generation.

Making my point fit quite well.

Plus I’m waaaaaayyyy past my expiration date!

There is enough natural gas for at least 100 years in this country alone.

And about the same for oil.

And when the 100 yrs is up, no telling what new innovations would fuel our economy.

You know, ones that work, not solar (subsidized) Coal burning (electric) cars (subsidized) windmills (subsidized)

It goes on and on.

President Palin will do wonders towards making the USA self sufficient as far as natural resources go, and without all the political BS!

George Whitfield is one of America’s forgotten founders.

Absolutely.
And here's what an idiot I am: I had never heard of the guy... Or maybe I had heard about him off-hand, and saw a picture of the guy that looked like the Quaker Oat's man - but I knew zippo about him.
I didn't know he ever made it to America. And you are absolutely right. The Revival that God used him to spread in America started this Nation out on a very solid foundation.

In school I learned about Alexander the Great; Napoleon; Julius Caesar; Augustus; George Washington; Robert E. Lee; Queen Elizabeth .... etc, ad nauseam...
But I never heard about the real great men -- like Whitefield. I stumbled upon his biography a year ago (I heard it recommended) - and I couldn't put it down. Wow is all I can say...

“It irritates me to no end that welfare recipients live better than I do simply because I resist a government handout.”

I hear ya buddy, and I sympathize. If I weren’t a Christian, I probably wouldn’t be as conservative as I am, and I probably would have succumbed to the temptation to “get my share while the gettin’s good”.

Now, leftists despise the fact that I’m a Christian and a conservative, without realizing that it is people like you and I who are supporting their welfare state. If we all decided to adopt their liberal ideology tomorrow, the gravy train would go off the rails. So, they really should be thanking us for being such ignorant, retrograde knuckledraggers, shouldn’t they?
