Wisconsin voters cast ballots on Tuesday to decide whether to remove six Republican state senators in the nation's largest ever recall election that could signal trends for the 2012 presidential race.
The recall votes resulted from an uproar over Republican efforts to curb the powers of public sector unions and have become a referendum on Republican Governor Scott Walker's conservative policies.
A drive led by Walker earlier this year to limit the power of the unions of public employees prompted

If republicans make it through this, they need to ammend that little recall statute so that CAUSE must be present...
Such as dereliction of duty.
It would be sweet justice if the Democrats lost all 9. I know it’s not likely but I sure wish it would happen. It would restore my faith in people.
We can only hope that Union influence will not tempt morons to vote their feelings. We saw enough during the protests at the Capitol to know that sanity, was absent as the dem children abdicated their positions in the senate, and among milling crowds of destructive children befouling their government building.
Sure hope sanity comes out to vote. I was not shocked to see the lying deceitful adds on TV run against those who were being voted on for recall, as I was in Oshkosh for a week of Airventure.
The problem is, the angrier someone is the more likely they are to vote - and the left is FURIOUS about what Walker and the Republican managed to do.
These are somewhat conservative districts and polling shows the races are close, which suggests the liberals may simply be more energized. The question is, will rational, reasonable people turn out to shut these union thugs down, or will they let the mob rule.
I have little faith in the American public, so I am not terrible optimistic. Then again, I thought Kloppenclown would win, yet Wisconsin Republicans came through for us in that race.
Ahhh, but you are forgetting just how mad the right is. I think we are more angry at the overall situation and therefore will come out in full force.
I think you may be right, the lefts free loaders always come out to steel more from the producers. this time it’s probably the formerly indifferent producers who are mad as hell and turning out.
I hope your right. I have a feeling these recalls are coming at a bad time for us though. I think anti-incumbent sentiment is very high right now in general, and as all these Republicans are current office holders they could suffer from that popular mood.
Anyway, I don't want to be a debbie downer, and I was wrong in thinking Kloppenclown would win a couple months ago. Wisconsin Republicans have held the line so far, so I will just pray they get the job done again. If we win tonight and hold on to these seats we will have dealt a crushing blow to the public sector unions.
Require a cause for recall? Like leaving the state to avoid doing your job? Too bad the real derelicts weren’t recalled this time.
Aside from everything else, the lack of needing a cause here could be encouragement to force republicans to face elections every year (since they have to be in office 1 year before recall). If dems win any seats this time I wouldn’t be surprised to see them start recalls at the 1 year mark in any district that has an R representative where they think they can get enough signatures for recall.
