I do not see it as collapse. I see it as a lot of people demanding their governments get out of the way of day to day living. Will governments get the message?
“I do not see it as collapse. I see it as a lot of people demanding their governments get out of the way of day to day living. Will governments get the message? “
Good point, although I think a lot of people are still sorting things out in their own minds about what is happening and why.
I hope, as you do, that more people on the fence finally conclude that big, super-fat, Sugar-Daddy government and the political class are not their friends and stand in the way of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.
Sort of a libertarian uprising, huh? Rioting is an awesome way to get the government to leave us alone.
So let me get his straight..... you are seeing thugs burning and looting computers and TVs as just people trying to get across the message to government to get out of the way? Something is way wrong here.
I’m not sure how looting, rioting, burning buildings and stealing from your fellow man can send a message that govenments should get out of the way. This is nothing more than thug action.
The Tea Party is a better representation of people telling government to get out of their lives.
An aspiring cop-killer got gunned down in return fire.
Then people rioted about it.
Not seeing the connect.
Children aged as young as eight were reportedly seen fleeing shops with games consoles in Ealing.Yup... Looks like a lot of people demanding their governments get out of the way of day to day living.
Despite 6,000 officers on the streets of London alone, many residents reported a lack of police while marauding gangs were a law unto themselves.
“I do not see it as collapse. I see it as a lot of people demanding their governments get out of the way of day to day living. Will governments get the message?”

Are the Tea Party people rioting?
I think you need to rethink your reply.
As it applies to rioters in the UK or in the US,
It is about 180 degrees out of phase with reality.
These people want MORE government supporting them.
That is the stupidest comment I have ever read on this forum.
What you are saying is that these looters and anarchists that are burning the foundation of England's commercial structures are the English equivalent of the American Tea Party?
These scum suckers are the people who have been living on the public dole in England for generations and are just taking advantage of the situation to steal even more stuff from the productive members of the English society. And you claim they just want government to get out of the way of their daily living?
I'm hoping you were being sarcastic. If not, then I think you need to find a new forum to post to.
The rioters in London was more involvement by the government, not less. The UK is (understandably) trying to cut spending; minorities, wanting to keep their benefits, riot; the rioters turn into looters.
Staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital formed a 'human shield' as they barricaded themselves inside after rioters threatened to set it on fire - in an evil bid to 'win respect' from fellow thugs.
Police ordered an immediate lock-down of the hospital after rioters used Twitter to spread the word and encourage thugs to storm the wards just after 9pm last night. Gangs of rioters rounded on the hospital - which cares for some of Britain's sickest children - armed with broken bottles and knives hoping to 'out-riot' yobs running amok in London.
From what I have heard, most are rioting because the government has cut so many “benefits”. They want MORE government, not less.
I guess you lost me here. Are you saying you see a libertarian streak in the black rioters in England?
'Cause that's not the impression I'm getting.
FWIW. The US is the only country where a grass-roots movement has arisen demanding less government. It has to date been utterly non-violent, even polite.
In every other case of which I'm aware, the opponents of government actions are demanding continued or even expanded government benefits, quite regardless of how they will be paid for. They just don't care about that.
A less libertarian movement is difficult to imagine.
Bullsh*t. It’s the wrong people uprising. They’re not uprising in protest of too much government, it’s in protest of Western Civilization and the cutback of government benefits.
The exact wrong people are uprising. What’s left of the “real” British are sitting idly by pissing in their tea.
Hopefully this will wake them up.
“I do not see it as collapse. I see it as a lot of people demanding their governments get out of the way of day to day living. Will governments get the message?”
Except the majority of these people are anarchists and Commies wishing for redistribution, Marx style. They are not peaceful riots...they are teet suckers and babies who are too lazy to make their own way in the world. So they’ll steal others’ way.
Oh, yeah you can bet these are decent, productive, law-abiding citizens out there attacking the police and people.
Are you an idiot?
I suspect these rioters are the type who want MORE Gov’t in their day to day living, not less.
