That is true to a point . Riots are not a orderly society, the rights of ALL citizens are to be protected. How is not suppressing the riot protecting the rights of the ordinary peaceable citizen.
Answer : It doesn’t! The chaos of the riots feeds of the lack of vigorous response & increases as we have seen after 3 days the chaos has spread to other cities in England. Civilization is a very thin veneer poured over the mass of humanity & it is kept their by force not overbearing force but force of law as applied by the police & the courts that administer law.
If the law of the jungle is allowed to take root no ones rights are safe including yours.
If you allow the government to put down a riot by harming rioters, no one’s rights are safe including yours.
