In 2001, Texas under Perry, became the first state in the country to pass an in-state tuition law for illegal aliens. The law created a national movement.

If this isn’t enough, there are about 1000 anchor babies per month being churned out at Dallas Parkland Hospital...That is just one hospital in Texas, every month.

In Parkland Memorial Hospital Dallas, the second busiest maternity ward in the United States, 70% of the women giving birth were illegal aliens.

That added up to 11,200 babies for which Medicaid kicked in 34.5 million dollars to deliver these babies, the feds another 9.5 million and Dallas taxpayers tossed in 31.3 million. The average illegal patient is 25 years and giving birth to her second anchor baby.

Guess I’ll keep an open mind on Perry.

I still like Bachmann, and REALLY don’t want Romney or Christie on the ballot.

But, aside from Huntsman, I will contribute towards and actively support ANYONE the GOP nominates/

B.O. has GOT to go. Another four years of this freak will totally destroy America,

The article does not refute my points, that anti-Reagan/pro Al Gore history cannot be rewritten nor explained away.

>>>Thanks SS, some interesting comments there too!<<<

There are! I was really fascinated by one in particular. Palin as Energy Secretary!

...............................................................

I agree with article’s supposition that if Perry were to enter, Palin would endorse his candidacy. She has always stated that if there was someone who met her ideals for the presidency she would support them. Well, that definitely would be Perry. All indicator’s show he will announce by the end of July or in August. I believe Palin would immediately endorse his candidacy and instruct her followers to support Perry. That would make Perry the undisputed front runner and nominee of the party. Perry’s credentials are more significant than Bachmann’s, but I believe the strongest winning ticket to beat Obama is a Perry/Bachmann ticket. Palin would make a great Energy or Interior Secretary in a Perry Administration.

YOU; [I agree with article’s supposition that if Perry were to enter, Palin would endorse his candidacy.]

She has pretty much already done that, I believe;

MAY 31, 2011 .... Palin plugs Perry: “I really like him” .... Unprompted, Sarah Palin brought up Rick Perry’s name yesterday as a strong presidential candidate. “I think he would be a fine candidate.... we have a lot in common. I really like him.

I didn’t save the source link to that but it would be easily found I think.

Did you know we have a small oil boom going on down here? Check out Cuero, TX and Refugio, Tx.

It’s definitely in that link I posted to you in post #40.

From that link:

It’s still too difficult to tell whether one or both will jump in the race. Perry seems more likely, and if he does, Palin might opt out and choose to back her friend.

In fact, during the midst of her recent bus tour, Palin brought Perry’s name up again, unprompted, telling a group of reporters in Baltimore, “I think he would be a fine candidate. We have a lot in common.”

She added: “I really like him.”

Why they keep on saying Perry is good on the border issues completely mystifies me when his own mouth time and again says otherwise.

Except for maybe Bachmann, they all suck, and she doesn’t exactly knock it out of the park.

I wish former Texas Supreme Court Justice Steven Wayne Smith would come on the board and tell everyone his experiences with Perry. It would not be encouraging.

Whoops, you caught me, lol! I had that saved and admit I didn’t scour through that link. We all read so much constantly that I’ve got a headache from it today...... I also stay off of these threads a lot because they sometimes make me angry. Can’t imagine the next year!

Perry is reminding me of George ‘Dubya’ Bush all over again. The path he has chosen is quite similar to the one taken by Bush when he courted the evangelical conservative vote when he launched his run for the White House in order to get elected. Question is, will Perry turn out any better than ‘Dubya’ did? Will he jettison the Christian conservative when he feels he no longer needs them as well?!

Perry planned the prayer rally over a year ago, way before he started to think about running for president.

He is no Bush — BUT do you think Bush would be so bad, in comparison to the current occupant of the White House?

.... If he had changed parties DURING the Reagan years I would have a higher opinion of him. Changing the year the Berlin Wall fell and after Gore lost is too easy.

Don't forget. That was back when a Democrat couldn't get elected as a dog catcher in a town of 3. Republicans held every statewide office in the state and most county level offices. That was the advent of the great RINO influx if one recalls.
