In conversations with people I know, we have concluded that the pain has to happen. It has to be extreme. People are in such denial and have been for so long that short of open warfare only pain (of the financial/disruption of their lifestyle kind) will force them to deal in reality.
The facts you cited are true but to many, they aren’t ‘real’ AKA they do not see them directly effect them personally. It has to get so bad that they can no longer ignore the truth. They have to lose homes, cars, vacations, property...all of it. Unfortunately all of us pay for their ‘education’ one way or another.
I see your point and agree. I paid the price in 2008 when I lost my career in commercial real estate.
Most parents let a child wear a bandage for a short while. We then tell them to leave the bandage off so the fresh air can help the wound heal.
The material, spiritual, and social wounds inflicted on this country may well lead to physical confrontation because the left will not go quietly. We will need to throw them out overwhelmingly by ballot box or they’ll sabotage any overture of civility/will of the people. Think Wisconsin.

You want to talk pain, Obummer threatened Social Security which hurts granny, but you think there is a single welfare check reciever that will be in a better position than granny. Granny most likely owns a home, welfare people own empty beer bottles.
