Police cars have been set on fire during a demonstration outside a police station in north London, according to witnesses.
Tottenham resident, Maria Robinson, says the disturbance is linked to the fatal shooting of a man during a Scotland Yard operation on Thursday.
Dozens of protesters have been gathering on the High Road in Tottenham.

This came out of a police shooting. The cops were serving a warrant and the guy opened up on them. He was quickly dispatched by an officer’s MP-5.
I don’t think it’s over. The government might have to go farther to establish law than it would have had to, but I think it still can be done.

As someone who had lived in London a long long time, these type of people have always had a huge chip on their shoulder, they have no regard for law, think the gun is their god and have no qualms in stabbing, shooting or killing you, life to them is very cheap. When are these govts going to work out that multiculturism does not work, they live in ghettoes and act like it and think they are better than everyone else and deserve everything for free.
Its time London and the UK imposed zero tolerence and either jail them, or deport them for good. You do the crime...zero rights.

You mentioned the Bahamas; Barbados might be another. Wherever British law and customs took deep root, society progressed. India is the best example.
So sad, then, that the British, themselves, abandoned it.

The British did not “abandon” their laws and customs in those former ‘colonies/protectorates’.
Under the UN group think of post WWII - Britain was shamed into ‘liberating’ them. When the former ‘colonies’ began to dissolve into chaos - Britain was then obliged to accept the fleeing multitudes into a very small island nation.
The refugees were British citizens with all the benefits but none of the responsibilities.
The EDL are not heroes.
As you said, the EDL are ex-football hooligans (which is bad enough). Sorry, but they are not simple decent patriots, many DO have links to neo-nazi and far right racist/antisemitic groups. If you think they are non-racist patriots, you are very nieve.
Vanders and I and a few others here are British. We know what the EDL are better than you or anyone. And they ARE a group with questionable links and identity.
Just because they oppose the Muslims dosent make them heroes or right. You want to support us, then support the decent British person who opposes extremism and mass immigration but does it without hatred of skin colour.
Any advice for the US?
I know a couple of them personally and I am more interested in what they say about their group than what ultra-biased critics like the Anti-Fascists have to say.
The fact that they have put a wet blanket on some of Anjem Choudary’s planned activities is good enough for me.
Football hooligans? Formerly, yes. Some of them. And God bless them! The right needs more tough guys and fewer dilettantes on its side to match the strong-arm tactics of the left-—mainly union goons in this country.
I wish we had an analogous organization in the US. Confront the SEIU with a group like the EDL and you won’t get anywhere near the usual nastiness from them. Right now, they feel very safe in attacking blue-haired tea partiers (I’m one myself, only balding, not gray) and female candidates. If the TP’s had a contingent of EDL-type guardians, things might be different. Lefty thugs are known cowards. Beating up on wheelchair-bound flag salesmen is typical of their style.
Get a clue, please. The bad guys in the world today are Muslims and leftists, not patriots and lovers of Western culture like my hero Geert Wilders.
