The Chinese get "their pulp" for their "cheap paper production" [thanks to environmentalists as well] from Maine which has grown or changed the paper/pulp manufacturing industry in the US. Engineers are needed for that industry with scholarships set up [U of M]. Perhaps the much needed pulp goes over from other heavily wooded states as well.
