If states were intelligent and less politically correct, they would have state fair venues as far away from black population centers as possible.
It is kind of surprising that West Allis, which is basically an extension of Milwaukee, is the host to the State Fair grounds.
One has to realize, though, that State Fair Park has been there for a very very long time. (My husband thinks it goes back to the 1880's)
I have lived here all my life and the Milwaukee Metro area was once a very different place. I don't shop very often, but going to the mall near me (located in what was and still is one of the most lily-white relatively well-off suburbs in the area), I feel like I am a stranger in a different country.
