I admire and pray for our servicemen. I mostly pray that someone competent is soon in charge and will stop using them as pawns for political gain.

I wonder if the men flying B17’s and B24’s ever imagined such a thing would someday be possible?

I wonder if the men flying B17s and B24s ever imagined such a thing would someday be possible? If you're talking about bombers flying around the world to hit any target, anywhere, any time, many of those men are the ones who made it possible.
If you're talking about the United States bombing a country that went from a terrorist state to an ally to an enemy for no clear reason and with no clear goals, them I have no idea.

Remember, this does not constitute hostilitiesNot at all. A flight of B-1s and B-2s bombing over 100 targets in 24 hours is clearly part of our stated mission to enforce a no fly zone. Er, protect civilians from the fighting. I mean encourage regime change in Libya.
Okay, I really have no idea what we are doing.

I thought it was because Obama was criticized for not "doing anything" to help anti-government forces in Iran and Egypt, and he doesn't like being criticized, so he decided to "do something" in Libya.

Okay, I really have no idea what we are doing. It's called "kinetic military action", silly.

LOL...I suspect not. They probably would have a very difficult time imagining a nearly vibrationless, quiet shirtsleeve environment.
For them, the concept of being suited up for 24 hours while in their heavy woolen flight gear, flack armor inserted, helmet and goggles on, having to have a little bottle of O2 to go from point A to point B all the while feeling like you are sitting on a vibrator would be hard for them to envision.
By all accounts, the 8-12 hour missions left them completely exhausted and drained.

It's called "kinetic military action", silly. I know the definition of all three of those words and can't figure out what the heck they mean when put together. I understand Orwellian doublespeak. That's just garbledegook.

Okay, I really have no idea what we are doing. I call it "Shredding the Constitution". The whole point of the Libya operation is to show that the President is above the law.

Hm. I suppose a “non-kinetic military activity” would be what the plane captains used to do on the aircraft carrier when we had been at sea for an extended period of time and be unable to fly due to bad weather...
...nothing...:)

Theres nothing worth a bomb in Libya let alone worth risking aircrew flying one of the few bones left in the inventory into a hot situation. Especially not from half a world away.
If the goal is to replace MQ then there are people who can make that happen, but they might need to get in his face,
up close and personal. Only the personal touch will do here.
Give this job to ‘friends of ours’.
Michael in ‘2’ once said that blood is expensive and that
is good advice. We are best served by Libyans going back
to work pumping that sweet crude and driving home in new Mercedes. We could buy them the new cars for what it costs to scatter a few bombs.
Cold naked force is more effective when its done at the ‘apex of the pyramid’.

The Socialist, knee pad wearing, anti-American, bastard needs to be impeached.
However, since no elected officials have the intelligence, creativity, love of Country, and/or wherewithal to even begin the process, let alone accomplish it... we will have to institute a citizens impeachment on Nov.6th, 2012!
Honestly, I wept for our Military yesterday after I read the "heads up" memo being floated around the services regarding their EARNED retirement entitlement. Tonight, I will Pray that they not be used for an illegal usurper's political purposes again.
