You know, I think we're both smacking the same ball from opposite sides.

You are right -- you have the absolute right to property for which you have paid (providing, of course, that there is no law which restricts your possession of it -- e.g., nuclear weapons).

So when I disagree with your comment about having a right to a cell phone, I'm taking the tack that you don't have a 'right' to it in the sense that the government has guaranteed that you will have it.

From your point, the government's takeover of private property for development purposes is an affront to liberty.

From my point, the government's manipulation of the mortgage and housing industry to guarantee the recently discovered 'right' to own a home is a transfer of wealth.

Like I said -- smacking the same ball from two different sides.
