Well I DEFINITELY think that he deserves to celebrate the 50th.....however not that much. For example, my 30th birthday party was at the Olive Garden with 20 family members. My 40th was a rather larger affair at a home of a friend with a TON of food (seriously) and 25 close friends and family. I have not hit 50 yet. So if he wanted to have a nice picnic on the White House grounds with 30 or 40 closet friends, I would not begrudge him of that. But to have this huge event is just not right especially right now.
Once I got past the unspeakable waste of taxpayer dollars flying Air Force One round trip to Illinois so he can raise money I realized it says a lot that he is spending his birthday with high dollar donors. Imagine spending a milestone birthday with a bunch of strangers with deep pockets. You’d think a loving wife who has had years to think about it would have planned something personal and special.
