NEW YORK (AP) -- Pat Buchanan said that he didn't mean to slur President Barack Obama by referring to him as "your boy" during a discussion with Al Sharpton.
The former GOP presidential candidate and current MSNBC analyst appeared on "Morning Joe" Wednesday to explain remarks he made on that network's Sharpton show 12 hours earlier.

Good grief. “Your boy” and “boy” said with a certain twang have two totally different meanings. He better hope they don’t go after his family like they did Palin’s.
STOP APOLOGIZING!! “Boy”, “terrorists”, “Hostage taking” - puh-LEEEEZE!
It's time to quote my pal, malik zulu shabazz, "Michelle and the girls should leave that nigger".
Buchanan has been using this term for as long as I’ve been listening to him and he says to everyone on the other side. The whole “boy” thing is such a phony issue. My family and everyone I’ve ever known from the South calls ALL men, regardless of age, color or religion, some kind of boy. They’re Jew boys (as in Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jew Boys), ole boys, whatever. Turning it into yet another racial slight is how the powerless exert power.
It’s a shame that this cute little 6 year old boy grew up to become a crazy and evil monster.
If I were to have a conversation with Al Sharpton. or even Obama, I would not use the word “boy”, but I would tell them to bring me a cup of coffee.
I’m sorry, I just can’t take this racist crap seriously anymore.
Woe is me, our ancestors were slaves, so give me more money. Give me YOUR job. Give me your retirement. Give me everything you have, nigger. Even though I hate you whites, even though I scream in your face and insult you in every way, you must give me respect.
I am not poor because I didn’t bother to work, I am poor because YOU have the money, now give it to me. I don’t like my life, give me yours.
I am truly sick of this nonsense. Riot in the streets and try to kill all of us cracker terrorists for all I care.... but please, STFU.
Are all “Good Ole Boys” white or just Honkys ?
The term “Good Ole Boys” has been used by the feminists and other lefties to disparage all Southern men. Among Southern men themselves its a term of endearment. My uncles always call anyone they like or admire a good ole boy. So don’t be such a smartass.
Sorry you didn’t catch the sarcasm.
My point was that ‘boy’ is a benign term generally, except for one race that considers it demeaning while at the same time calling those same ‘good ole boys’ honkys.
As a “Good Ole Southern Boy” myself (mostly raised in Ga.), I know very well about the endearment of being a ‘Good Ole Boy.’ Never minded being referred to as one and took it as welcome acceptance.
My gosh folks are touchy here and ready to jump on anything.
I’m not sure you’re licensed to use sarcasm. I’ll have to see your papers. Move to the side...
Being a Southern gentleman, I’ll give you the satisfaction of having the last word, “ma’m.”
Sure hope you’re not going to have a Barbara Boxer moment.
Do you have absolutely no sense of humor? Are incapable of knowing when someone is playing with you. Deep breaths. You are not being attacked. You are loved.
Does it seem to bother Obama? Has he made a statement on it?
You can call George W Bush a monkey, nazi, or boy president without complaint from the press but use ANY of those analogies for Obama and Queen Sheila Jackson Lee will tell you front and center how NO PRESIDENT EVER IN THE HISTORY OF AMERIKKKA EVAH HAD TO PUT UP WITH SUCH INSULTS!
Oh yeah, and Barack hired Shepherd Fairey to do the HOPEY-CHANGEY posters KNOWING he had put up BUSHHITLER stickers all over America on public property like street signs and traffic meters (admitted it in his gushing love letter to Fairey).
How did we get to this point? Why do we have to walk on eggshells, afraid that we might say something that could be construed as racist or otherwise offensive to some “protected” group?
This is rubbish. Someone needs to stand up and say, “I’m not apologizing. I didn’t mean it the way you apparently took it. If you choose to get offended anyway, that’s your problem, not mine.”
