Cumberland County Freeholder and recent Dem party chair, Louis N. Magazzu took nude photos of himself and sent them to a woman online. After demands from fellow legislators, Magazzu resigned from office and had recently resigned as Dem party chair. He admitted he took the nude photos with his cell phone standing naked in front of a mirror. He sent the pics via email. Magazzu is still married, though he's been separated for two years, according to his attorney.

The 53-year-old Democrat sent the nude photos to a woman with whom he corresponded online. He says she requested the photos and that he didn't know she was “working with an avowed political enemy.” The woman sent the photos to magazzuwatch.com.....a website that exposes the underbelly of local politics.

Magazzu, a 53-year-old lawyer who had been an elected county official for more than a decade, apologized to his friends, family and constituents in a statement, but indicated he had been set up.

SHE MADE ME DO IT!!!!

One would think that after the Weiner episode, others would learn to keep it behind closed doors.

Bob Balicki and Doug Long to replace Louis Magazzu as Cumberland County Democratic Committee co-chairmen

Louis Magazzu said Tuesday he won’t seek re-election as chairman of Cumberland County’s Democratic Committee, and the organization selected two local officials to fill his shoes.

Magazzu said he wants to concentrate on his current position as president of the National Democratic County Officials organization, which would take time away from his duties as county chairman.

“I was concerned that I would not be here in September through November every day,” Magazzu said, describing the prime election season. “I didn’t want the campaign to miss a beat.”

...he didn't know she was “working with an avowed political enemy.”

She, OTOH, had a pretty good idea that she was working with a stupid pervert. And she was right.

Louis N. Magazzu has resigned as Cumberland County Freeholder amid a mounting scandal involving a political website posting embarrassing photos and emails from a cyber-affair Magazzu admits to having while married.

“To spare those I love further pain, and to hopefully begin the process of healing, I hereby resign, as Freeholder and from all other affiliated positions, effective immediately, so that I may privately, through counseling and the grace of God confront my personal responsibilities,” Magazzu wrote in his resignation letter issued at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Center City resident Carl B. Johnson posted the images and emails on his website, magazzuwatch.com, after receiving them from the woman earlier this year.

Magazzu had been trying to force Johnson to remove the images from his site.

Johnson had received a three-page letter last week on behalf of Magazzu, a longtime Cumberland County freeholder who recently stepped down as chairman of the county’s Democratic Party.

Rocco C. Cipparone Jr., a criminal defense attorney and former federal prosecutor hired by Magazzu, states “posting and disseminating” of the photos and messages should stop immediately. He warned Johnson he may face criminal charges and civil liability.

Magazzu, also an attorney, acknowledges taking the nude pictures of himself with a cell phone. He told The Daily Journal he forwarded the photos, along with others in which he is fully clothed, to an unidentified woman. The explicit shots were sent at her request after he sent other pictures in which he is fully dressed, Magazzu said.

Magazzu said the two never met in person, and only shared the pictures and flirting exchanges by email. He is in the process of divorcing his wife, an action that started before Johnson obtained and published the photos.

At some point, Magazzu told The Daily Journal last month, he realized his actions with the woman were seriously wrong, sought counseling and ended the contacts.

“Unfortunately, in my personal life, I did not always demonstrate the wisdom and balance that I expected from myself, and that the people of Cumberland County deserve and have every right to expect,” Magazzu wrote Tuesday.

“As a consequence, a woman who I have never met personally, but have corresponded with on the internet for several years, has recently shared some photographs which she requested and that were intended only for her eyes,” he said in his resignation letter. “I did not know that she was working with an avowed political enemy to distribute these pictures. I have retained counsel to determine what laws may have been broken by the unauthorized distribution of those pictures. No government services or equipment were used by me when taking the pictures or transmitting them to the woman in question.”

RESIGNATION STATEMENT OF LOUIS N. MAGAZZU
August 2, 2011

The greatest professional privilege of my life has been to serve as a Cumberland County Freeholder since my election in 1997.

Since my election, I have worked to improve the quality of life for all families of Cumberland County. I am proud of the accomplishments that have come from the collective work of the Freeholders with whom I have been honored to serve. I am particularly proud of the work which resulted in the Federal Empowerment Zone which brought twenty five million dollars into our county and two hundred and fifty million dollars in private investment, the fifty million dollar Motorsport Park and the NACo prescription card which has resulted in savings to our residents into well over a million dollars. I am proud of the forty four million dollar expansion of the Cumberland County College; half of which was paid by the State of New Jersey. I am proud of the years working together where we fought for the people of Cumberland County.

Unfortunately, in my personal life, I did not always demonstrate the wisdom and balance that I expected from myself, and that the people of Cumberland County deserve and have every right to expect.

As a consequence, a woman who I have never met personally, but have corresponded with on the internet for several years, has recently shared some photographs which she requested and that were intended only for her eyes. I did not know that she was working with an avowed political enemy to distribute these pictures. I have retained counsel to determine what laws may have been broken by the unauthorized distribution of those pictures. No government services or equipment were used by me when taking the pictures or transmitting them to the woman in question.

I apologize to Carmele who has been supportive of me throughout our lives and particularly since our separation of nearly two years and during this very difficult time. I apologize to my children, the rest of my family, to those who have supported me.

I apologize to my colleagues in elected office, the wonderful professionals I have dealt with in the county and in other governmental endeavors and to the people of Cumberland County. The leaders of the county have enormous challenges and cannot have this type of distraction.

To spare those I love further pain, and to hopefully begin the process of healing, I hereby resign, as Freeholder and from all other affiliated positions, effective immediately, so that I may privately, through counseling and the grace of God confront my personal responsibilities.

I would only request that our community show compassion for those whose pain I have caused so that we may begin to heal.

He wants to blame this on Republicans?

LOL! If Republicans were able to use the systemic deviance of liberals against them, CCB would have passed.
