Indeed we do...but there is nothing in that phrase (perhaps this was intended to be) that indicates that "the right of the People" must contain a certain percentage of the populace.

At the time this was written, far, far more than half the population was dramatically and firmly FOR the rule of England over the colonies.

That percentage did not stop American Independence. It should not be allowed to stop it this time either.
