Is it true, or false, that the proposed bill reduces federal outlays below the current levels?Depends, I suppose?
For example, as more people join the ranks of Social Security (aging boomers), spending on that would increase. Let's say demographic growth is 6%. So if they "cut" the spending increase to 3%, that means less spending per capita.
But there's no reason to keep discretionary spending even at its current levels, never mind baselining it out.

I expect this from the leftists. It’s just so darn insulting when republicans do it to us. The Tea Party started because we were tired of secret meetings, not knowing what was in the bill, and all of the spending.
What has changed?
They still have secret meetings, we still don’t know what’s in the bill and they’re still spending our money!

Another caller added Medicare, and another one food stamps (!) to the list of things they thought were going to stop.

They need to immediately cut off all foreign aid. Why is it always up to the USA? How many billions would that save?

Wow, I was just listening to some of the “callers”
Talk about stacked, hand picked libtards promoting an agenda.
Absolutely DISGUSTING!

No, a quorum vote. The actual vote starts in a couple minutes from now.

I think these are really the people who call cspan.
It sure is painfully disheartening to hear them.

You are a fool. Paul Ryan knows far more about the country’s finances that you or anyone else on this board.
If the deal is OK with Ryan, it’s OK with me.

No way a BBA passes either house. Doubt it even comes up. Of course, an Article V Convention can be held by the States without Congress to enact an amendment...

Ryan does know more than me - sure I will admit that. However - that doesn’t mean he isn’t caving under pressure.
