What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?

The Army is on our side when faced with hurting their own grandfathers, grandmothers, mothers, fathers, brother and sisters. The gun will be pointed the right way.

If the feds collapse, the 10th Amendment wins.

Unfortunately, this is simply the natural progression of ‘democracy’. As universal suffrage becomes a ‘right’, the public discovers that it can vote itself benefits from the public treasury.

Excessive spending always follows and collapse inevitably follows that.

Maybe. We've already had a Civil War where this theory was proven to not be the case....

Cheer up. The liberal Democratic model of government is dying as we watch, dead of excessive spending. Its adherents are in denial, but soon the dismal condition of US public finances will become clear as the US credit rating is downgraded and the dollar continues to decline. Obama has lost the support of young and Independent voters and may produce a catastrophic loss for himself and his party.

All it would take is a courageous governor to come out with an official statement that accuses the federal government of being in contempt of the 9th and 10th amendments to the Constitution, and refuse to acknowledge the jurisdiction of any federal official (they can even round them up and demand that they either join the state or leave). If the Feds threaten to withhold government checks (i.e. Social Security, Military pensions, transportation, law enforcement, etc.) the governor will eliminate all payments to the federal government from residents, businesses, and corporations in that state, and have them redirected to the treasury of the state instead. A system for payment of pensions will be set up from the state treasury, and other formerly federal payments (military, transportation, law and border enforcement, etc.) will be redirected to new state agencies which will be responsible for those jobs. All public welfare cases in that state will be reevaluated, and welfare will be only for the truly destitute who have no alternatives (family, sperm donor, church, poor house, etc.). Since they were not responsible for the crazy federal debt, they will have no debt service payments in their budget, which, of course would have to be balanced, without tax increases, every year. Existing retirees from other states will not be allowed to relocate to this state unless they have family who will be responsible for them. All other persons relocating to this state will also need to be self supporting. I’m sure that they will have an immediate influx of patriots who will be passing those fleeing welfare kings and queens who are seeking greener pastures in a wealth redistribution state.

I hesitate to repeat myself but the welfare state now claims a huge swath of the population. A hungry man might reach for another dinner roll but a starving man will clutch and grab a crust of bread with all his might.

Dole recipients are not voting out of loyalty, tradition, ideology, politics, etc. but out of animalistic survival. Adults who claim to know there is no Santa Claus nevertheless expect that US Treasury check every month as an article of faith. Both sides in the dysfunctional symbiotic relationship have worked overtime to produce a thick volume of euphemisms - working families, fixed incomes, our most vulnerable Americans, single mothers, nontraditional families, etc. etc. - to ignore the reality that theirs the most primitive and craven of relationships. I watch the automatons standing, as always, on those risers behind Obama and wonder if they can intellectually grasp the concepts of liberty and man’s rights to say nothing of actually exercising those rights.

I wouldn't count on the Internet. How fast do you think the FedGov will smack the Big Red Button for the Internet Kill-switch if we peasants get serious? Or the Tel-co/cell tower kill switch? Or turning off/scrambling the GPS system?

Playing chess with checkers strategy isn't going to work out well. :-)

I do have a feeling, we will split into 2 nations. Let the libs fend for themselves. We will prosper, they will wallow. Let them have the coasts, we’ll take the middle, fly-over country. We have enough resources and farm land to survive. Let the cities fall, like Detroit. Us in the middle will prevail.

Yep, started with the Kintoons and their “politics of personal destruction”.

Once they and their willing accomplices in the MSM allowed the Klintoons to get away with murder...there was NO GOING BACK to civil discourse.

Having read the first 50+ posts, I am dismayed at the pessimism. We just had a HUGE victory last Nov. elections. We’ve changed the debate from tax and spend to spending cuts, not raising taxes and balancing budgets. We are the 2012 elections away from actually accomplishing these tasks. A huge tea party victory along with a Palin style attitude towards government in the White House should be our goal.

Yep. Couldn’t agree more. Once the people could vote themselves money from the treasury it was all over.

Let's not forget the Army, Police, etc. will have guns pointed at their grandfathers, grandmothers, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, wives, husbands and kids too. That game goes both ways.

To quote Lincoln:

“A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.”

The half slaves a.k.a. the taxpaying, law-abiding folks vs. the half free a.k.a. the “gimme” class, which includes public union people.

I certainly feel like a slave.

Yep, we're there...and some of us were discussing this years ago.

If the country DOES split, we need to try to ensure that it splits as close as possible along county lines and not state lines. There are too many states like Vermont and Maryland which are basically perfectly normal red states other than for one or two counties and it’s those one or two counties where all the vote manufacturing takes place.

Did you see my post 22? There is still a chance. We aren’t going to change anything until we have control of all 3 branches, with a super majority in the senate. If we fail at that in 2012, we’re done. We need to primary the rinos. JD Hayworth almost won McCain’s seat. And Jorge has the audacity to trash the Tea Party? Who was Sarah Palin and why did he pick her for VP? The only reason we supported him was because of her. I voted for Palin, not McCain. He’s an old man and needs to retire and hang out with his grand kids and great grand kids.

We won’t survive another 4 years of obama.
